Welcome to Madame Verdi's Information Parlor!
You may know me better as
patgreene. A while back, I used to toss out trivia questions in my journal on a regular basis. I decided I wanted to start doing so again, but in a separate journal.
As some of you may know, I once made a small amount of money writing trivia questions for an online game site. Also, in the age of the dinosaurs, I was an AOL Trivia Forum host (back when AOL used to say things like "We've added out 100,000 member!"). Which is where "Madame Verdi" came from -- it was one of the names I used to run games under.
Why "Information Parlor" and not "Trivia Parlor"? Because some of the questions I will ask are about things that are far from trivial. I find it objectionable to classify the U.S. Constitution as "trivia." Which is not to say that I won't also ask things like who Jennifer Anniston's godfather was, just that I am not going to restrict myself to such.
Oh, one last thing -- someone told me once that there is someone in the BDSM community who uses a similar name online. While I don't know that for a fact, if you are looking for her, you need to look elsewhere. But you're more than welcome to stay and hang out with us while you're looking! : )
P.S. I retain copyright to all material in this journal. I would like, someday, to do something commercial with this stuff, so people should link to my journal rather than copy. (Yeah, I know, when pigs fly, but still.) Oh, before you ask: information is not copyrightable, but the expressions of it are. So you can look up the date of the Battle of Trafalger yourself, or take my word for it, but you shouldn't replicate my snarky comments about Lord Nelson without permission or attribution. : )
